I'm hooked

I've been utterly fascinated by the art of bento making and been following this blog since my friend created it. How freaking talented is she?!!! I've never made one nor have the time but I have about 5 years until Elle starts school to get good at it. That should be just about enough time for me to practice, ha! So while I was at H-mart yesterday I bought these things to start it off. They had bento boxes but I decided to stay far away from them because with my addictive personality, I'll have a kitchen full before I even need 'em. Kia, I think you've created a monster here. hee hee.
These are rice shapers. I took a picture just before Elle snatched one up. Looks pretty easy to use and I can make Elle some fun things to eat with her hand for now with them. I wonder what other things I can put into them. Any suggestions?
A Tribute

Our cat, Sati, Past away this week. He left our house on Tuesday night and didn't come back. Our neighbor saw him dead on the street on Wednesday night. He was the best cat. He really was. I feel horrible because I was never nice to him because he was either digging into my custom upholstered couch or recently sleeping on the babies' changing table or crib, or crying to be let out while I was trying to put baby to bed at night. But Sati loved us all, he loved A-man the most because A-man loved him the most. but he loved Madison and slept next to her and cleaned her ears. He also loved Eleanor. He let her bite him, hug him, carry him, and just about everything she could do to a cat, he let her do without even a scratch on her. and he did love me too. He usually kept me company while I sat in the toilet and in the winters, when the shower was on, he came running to sit in the warm steam and get his toes wet. He was part of our family before Madison, momo, and even Eleanor. We will miss him so much, especially his brother Tikka. Tikka is all alone now. I'm so sorry Sati, I'm sorry you had to die all alone and I'm sorry I didn't get to hold you recently. I love you my friend. (Sati means "friend" in Nepali)
A Video

I've never posted a video here before so here it goes.
Elle has learned her name, I don't know when or how because I call her by her korean name. A-man does call her Eleanor but the first time I asked her her name, she said it plain and simple. Well, it's a hard name for a baby, let alone my side of the family with all the l's and r's.
I've also taught her how to "say" her age in korean. She sometimes says it but usually she just shows it with her hand.
Hope you enjoy my precious baby as much as I do.
Oh, I forgot, she ends the video with a big bite of my shoulders. Yup, that's my baby!!!
Number 10

I noticed the tip of the right top molar poking out as well yesterday. I guess that all explains the constant waking up screaming. Poor baby, I hope more comes out, better to suffer all at once than one at a time.
Tooth #9

I can't remember when Elle's last tooth came in but she finally cut a molar. She hasn't really been any crankier than usual. But unfortunately she has been biting a little more lately and she actually bit another baby the other day. It was our first playdate with this baby and since the first thing Elle does when she meets a baby is to give them a hug and kiss, I didn't think twice about it. But this baby had just woken up and really shy and wasn't used to other babies being that close or anyone else for that matter. So when she pulled back, Elle grabbed harder and then took a bite. She didn't break skin but she did leave a tiny red and purple mark. I felt like an asshole and can't shake the little mark that she left behind but it's a learning experience and I'll be better about protecting other babies from my way to friendly baby.
I know it's not an excuse for the biting but I do feel somewhat better knowing that the teething was the reason why she's been such a vampire lately. I'm also really excited that she's getting molars because that means she can chew her food better and hopefully will mean that she'll eat some food, period. She's still nursing and eats real food about as much as a 5 month old would, which is pretty much nothing at all. but she's 25 pounds and 32 inches tall so she's getting plenty of nutrition.
Message Board

I started a message board a few months ago, it's nothing fancy but it's nice to go to have other moms ask and answer questions and show off our babies!! So if you're interested I'd love to have you there. It's only a few people so there's not much going on but you're more than welcome to come hang out. It's kinda slow today for some reason. I guess you get what you pay for, hee hee.

Hope to see you there.
Happy 15 Months!

Everyone tells me how quickly the time will fly once you have a baby and they weren't kidding. I can't believe it's been 15 months since I had my baby. I see little babies and can't imagine Elle having been that little because to me, she's still so little yet so big. She is getting more and more fun everyday. She has these faces that she makes, she knows what you're talking about mostly and she gives the best kisses, not all the time but when she feels like it and it's just heaven.
I spent the day hanging out with her as I do everyday but today we went over to my friend's Chinese restaurant and she loved eating the Spicy Chicken that they are known for but they make the children's version without any spices. Elle likes to feed herself and as much as I try to keep her clean by feeding her myself, she likes to hold the fork or the food so I just let her have a wing to suck on. She did really great until she flipped it over and started biting off the bone. Oh well!
Then we came home and just played around the house. It scares me when she plays outside because she pretty much just runs everywhere. I think she decided walking is to slow and safe and she likes to play rough. She ran around the front of the house and then with her broken trike (because daddy ran over the back wheel) but since she can't reach the pedals yet, it's just cute watching her climb it.
I love to cherish each and every day that I get to spend with her, she's a different person every day and I'm so blessed to have her in my life.
