Insomnia at it's worst

I don't remember being awake this long during my first pregnancy but I keep waking all the time during the night mainly because of Eleanor but I ususally go back to sleep without much trouble. But occasionally, like every other night or so, it seems like I just can't fall asleep. The other night I was up for almost 4 hours only to sleep for about 45 minutes. Since staying at my mom's I haven't been able to nap with Eleanor like I did at home which should mean that I should be extra tired at night but I guess we're both just not used to sleeping out.

on a brighter side, my husband started the demo yesterday on the basement, well he started on Tuesday but yesterday was the big day. His next big thing is removing the vinyl tiles on the floor but I've been reading that there could be asbestos used back in the day and that removing old tile can bring it up again. A-man isn't worried at all about it but he obviously would rather not remove the tiles if he doesn't have to so we'll see what happens.
He demolished the existing basement bathroom and had one plumber come by yesterday to give us an estimate to re pipe the outlets for the sink, toilet, and tub because we're going to move them all slightly and make the bathroom bigger. I'm so giddy just thinking about it. I wish we could afford to hire someone to completely do that bathroom while A-man works on the rest of the basement so it can be done faster but we can't and I'll just have to deal with it.

Well, i'm off to read up on some basement remodels.

Aaahh a real computer

The reason I haven't posted in over a month is because I canceled my Internet service at home to save month in these hard times so even though I have Internet access on my phone, it's a pain in the ass to write on it and forget about posting pictures. I do miss writing about the daily grind and how fast my baby is growing and for that matter, how fast I'm growing but for now I'll just have to deal with what I have or don't have in this case.

I'm staying at my mom's this week and she has cable internet which is so soooo nice!! Even before we canceled our internet we had dsl so it wasn't all that great but this is heavenly. Anyways, I'm staying at her house because my husband is renovating our basement. We live in an 80+ year old one story house and although we spent years updating the main floor we didn't do anything with the basement. We moved in about 4 years ago so if you can imagine, there was 4 years of crap piled high in our basement and after much persuasion, I got my husband to agree to finish it. So we spent the memorial day weekend clearing it out and even though I felt like giving up, it got done in two days and he started the demo today. He works in the afternoons so he only has the mornings to work on it and as long as he finishes the demo work, Eleanor and I can move back home. It's just the mold and dust we need to avoid but after he's done cleaning that out, we can be there for the actual work.
You don't know how excited I am about this endeavor. We have a tiny 3 bedroom house and with a toddler, there are toys everywhere so to have a finished basement with a play room will be such a blessing esp. since we're adding another baby to the mix.

Speaking of baby, I am 26 weeks this week and feel fine. Twitch is moving like crazy, so much so that I had to call the midwife and ask if it was normal for the baby to move alllll day. I thought they needed a break for sleep or something but apparently my baby likes to shake it during his/her sleep. But everything is going well with the pregnancy. I am gaining too much weight too fast and even though my midwife told to lose some weight and exercise, I'm not going to worry about it. I gained 46 pounds with Eleanor and lost all but 10 pounds of it so I'm pretty confident that no matter how much I gain, I'll lose it chasing around 2 children.

We also took our dog Madison to get a torn cruciate tendon fixed back in March and it didn't heal and she stopped using it so last week the vet went back into her knee and redid part of the surgery. Poor puppy has been drugged for the past 2 months with antibiotics and pain killers. I really hope this worked this time because she still needs to go in and get her other knee fixed as well.

I put some updated pictures of Eleanor on the side and will try to be better about taking pictures. she'll be 23 months old next week and then 2 years old on July 1st!! I can't believe how fast time has flown. She makes us laugh and cry daily. She's so stubborn and there's a hint of manipulation there which scares me to death but overall, she's a really fun and funny baby. I'm just a little worried that she's not speaking as well as I expect an almost 2 year old to speak. But she knows a ton of words and understands Korean and English very well and communicates with me to get whatever she wants so I guess I shouldn't worry too much.
Oh and she's fully potty trained except for at night time but she's woken up during the night to go pee several nights and woke up with a dry diaper so maybe she'll be completely potty trained before Twitch arrives which would be so awesome.
