I've been going back and forth to my mom's house to use her sewing machine and it's really hard to do with a 3 month old. Elle doesn't want to sleep when she's at grandma's house, I think it's because of the lights. We like to keep her in the dark at our house apparently. Anyways, she stays wide awake for the most part and even when she goes to sleep, it's only for a short time. Plus of course my mom has to watch her either way if I want to sew and that just doesn't work out too long cuz that woman can't sit still for a minute, the apple didn't fall far from the tree:). Also, the machine was in the basement so it was hard for me to run up if I had to.
So, I was talking to my mom today and mentioned how I wanted to come over but with the cold and the fact that even if I had gone there, I really wouldn't get much done so what's the point and asked if I could possibly have her machine. And of course she said yes. She needs it sometime next year but that's more than enough time and if I can make some extra money on etsy in the meantime, I can buy my own machine then. You'll probably thinking what the big deal is about getting her machine when I can go out and buy a cheap machine for my house. Well, the deal is that I've learned how to sew on an industrial machine that has a motor and all. And I can't work with a home brand machine. It drives me wild because it's 10x slower than the industrial type.
I've been getting some ideas for baby gear and I started cutting out a bunch of patterns and been so wanting to get them sewed and I will finally get to do that. The worst part of it is that the only place to put it is in my living room but so be it. I live in a sty for the most part, who needs another clean room.
I can't wait until Sunday to get my machine here...
Lovely sewing machine.
