I've been meaning to make this cover for Abby and I finally did it 4 months later. I hope she stays put in her car seat until winter ends so I can get a good use out of this cover. She's already so big so I'm not sure if she'll make it without having to get a bigger car seat. I am so in LOVE with this new cover. It has three vents, one in front, one on top for the handle and one on the back. The fabric is 100% cotton and the bottoms are completely tight around so there's really no chance of suffocation but I wanted to be extra careful so I added some "windows" for her, plus it really makes it look much nicer. I know the image quality sucks and I didn't use the fabric I wanted to use because it was my first prototype and I didn't want to ruin the good fabric. But it took me forever to make it so I'm not sure I'll be making another one.
I planned on making them to sell on etsy but I would have to charge $150+ to make it worth my time and effort. The windows are attached with magnets and has piping on the edges, the front and back has elastic at the bottom and it's completely reversible!! And as much as I love making things, I'm not sure I want to spend my precious few hours at night making these instead of something more fun. At least I made a pattern and template so the next one will be quicker.
