So many things, so little time

I really piled on my work load.

1, A-man wants to open a commercial shirt washing plant and the space that he likes is owned by Koreans. That's where I come in. To do my little negotiating. But it's a warehouse space and I really don't know the logistics of opening a business in a warehouse space since it'll have to be divided and such. Plus we are already disagreeing on how to operate this business so I'm not all that thrilled to be doing it.

2, I want to open a business of my own and the space I want and the only space that will work with my plans is ridiculously expensive, more than $5000 a month. That really puts a wrench in the works because it's a fairly new business plan so although I'm 90% positive that I'll do well enough to at least break even, it's still scary to think that I'll be responsible for $5000 a month when we currently don't have any extra income. I can't go to a cheaper space because the way that my plan is, it HAS to be this one particular space. I'm not going to mention my business plan because of what happened with my friend although I probably trust my internet friends more than this friend.

3, I have to make these traditional towers for a friend's sons birthday in less than 3 weeks away. I agreed to help her because I can also use it for Abby's birthday and I'm only going to make one for my friend with gumballs then I'll have to make 3-5 more for Abby's birthday. Korean babies first birthday is equivalent to a sweet sixteen, I suppose, and it's a really huge celebration. People rent out banquet halls and spend anywhere from $5000 to more than the cost of a wedding!! These decorative towers traditionally were make out of edible arrangements but now it's just for show and some places rent out plastic ones but I'd really like to make something unique and cool for Abby. Here's a site with pictures of how most people decorate this event. Crazy huh?

4. I really wanted to get my etsy shop going again but I've been so busy with researching ideas that I've only managed to cut patterns and not really finish one thing. Although I'm putting a few of my items at a anniversary party for a friend's business and I think about 80 local people will be attending. A sale there might boost my motivation level.

5. I'm going to start making my own detergent.
It's ridiculous to spend so much money on detergent when you can not only use something natural but also save a shit load of money. I've been using a natural detergent and it gets all caked up and although it starts out clear and thin, by the time I'm mostly done with the container, it's all white and thick. So who knows why and what makes it do that. I only use environmentally safe detergent but I'm really excited about making my own. I've been saving my detergent containers so I'll make a few batches at a time.

6. I took over the local Korean American Mom's meetup group and have been trying to organize meetups and playdates and working on possibly starting a "class" of songs and language classes for the toddlers in the group. I just found out that my cousin got a job at the korean American Center of Chicago so I'm going to see if they will let us use a classroom.

7. Olympics is on and I can't get anything else done at night because all I want to do is watch snowboarding!!! I freaking love winter olympics and so bummed that Chicago didn't get the 2016 olympics. I had dreams of volunteering or working for the olympics in Chicago and what a great experience that would have been. Damn!! I can really see Eleanor being really atheletic because she's so damn fearless so it would be so great if she can be disciplined enough to work hard on one thing. Unlike her mother who can't really stay focused on just one thing.

I've been making my own detergent for about a year now...and I LOVE IT. It is SOOOO much cheaper, and it has to be better than the commercial stuff, environment-wise. If I know you like I think I know you...you'll love it too.

Holy cow dude - you. are. busy.

I LOVE love love love LOVE that you are up and running with new ideas. I need to come to Chicago and get together w/ you - because R always has a new business plan, new opportunities - and I need to understand how you all think so I can be a better wife. I am dead serious.

W/ this new plan - can you work it even part way right now to get a little bit of cash saved up? Maybe 3 months worth of rent or something as an emergency fund? That way if you couldn't break even at least right away, you have given yourself a little wiggle room? Or can you and E share some space? Even if you partition a little corner (I have no clue how much space he needs) or something like that?

You can tell me to shut up if need be :) just brainstorming some ideas so both of you can work it out.
